The most legendary oriental in perfumery, refracted through a prism of jasmine. Limited. Irreplaceable.
The Scent
Shalimar Millésimé Jasmin opens with a surprisingly fresh burst — zesty bergamot and crisp green notes that feel almost vegetal, like crushed stems under morning dew. It’s bright rather than heavy, setting a lighter tone than you’d expect from a fragrance with this much history behind it.
The heart is where the narrative unfolds. Three jasmine varietals — Sambac, Grandiflorum, and Indian — bloom in sequence, solar and modern rather than indolic or heady. On warmer days, the jasmine takes on an almost strawberry-gourmand sweetness; in cooler weather, it behaves more like classic Shalimar. The drydown is the real reward: the house’s signature vanilla emerges, wrapped in soft, glove-like leather and golden musk. It’s Shalimar, but with the volume turned to elegant rather than operatic.
The Collection
Part of Guerlain’s Millésime limited edition series — annual interpretations that reimagine the 1925 classic through a single ingredient lens. This 2024 edition is the fourth in the series, crafted by Delphine Jelk, Guerlain’s current Director of Perfume Creation. Each Millésime is produced once and never repeated. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Who It’s For
You’re drawn to Shalimar’s legend but want something more wearable than the original’s dramatic, smoky-animalic intensity. You appreciate heritage reinterpreted — not diluted, but refocused. The jasmine lover who prefers their white florals bright and solar rather than narcotic. You understand that limited editions aren’t about availability; they’re about timing. If you’re reading this and it’s still here, that’s your sign.
Honest note: Shalimar purists who crave the original’s citrus-smoke chiaroscuro might find this too softened. If you want the beast-mode Shalimar experience, look to the classic. This is Shalimar in spring light.
Performance
6–8 hours on skin with moderate projection. The jasmine heart sings for the first 3–4 hours, then settles into that unmistakable Guerlain vanilla-musk base that lasts well into the evening. More intimate than the original — it draws people in rather than announcing from across the room.
Authenticity & Sourcing
