Rouge Chaotique lives up to its name from the first spray: bergamot, lemon, saffron, and juicy blackcurrant collide in a bright, spicy opening that crackles with energy. The heart is Byredo’s most audacious passage — syrupy plum and sweet praline create a dessert-like richness, while upcycled oak adds a raw, grainy wood texture that keeps the sweetness honest. Launched in 2023 by Jérôme Epinette as the gourmand entry in the Night Veils line, the original Rouge Chaotique was discontinued with the 2025 collection overhaul. The reformulated version smooths some of the rougher edges; this 50ml old edition preserves the full, unfiltered chaos.
