How to choose
- You drink tea. Start with Chasense (22 tea perfumes), then To Summer Triple Tea, Mith Bangkok Another Tea or J-Scent Roasted Green Tea.
- You want a conversation starter. Betmay ($59, mango sticky rice and matcha latte in a bottle), Butterfly Thai Perfume (mango sticky rice, galangal) or Soulvent (a Taiwanese pineapple cake).
- You want a well-known house for less. Byredo, Van Cleef & Arpels and Armani Privé have the deepest stock; Guerlain and Amouage carry the rare bottles.
- You are not sure. Browse samples and decants: 2 ml of most of the Asian houses from $5.99, posted for $8.
