Vanille-Benjoin is vanilla on its own schedule: benzoin, tonka and two vanilla absolutes that unfold over hours instead of fading after one. Composed by Corinne Cachen in 2015, 100 ml at $249. If you found most vanillas too sweet or too short-lived, this is the one to try.
Santal-Basmati, the creamy sandalwood-and-rice companion, is sold out at the moment; register your interest on its page.

Why Affinessence
Founded in Paris by Sophie Bruneau, the Base Notes collection drops the usual top-note fireworks and builds each scent on the materials that normally sit underneath: vanilla, benzoin, sandalwood, cedar, musk. The result is linear, long-lasting and unusually honest; what you smell at hour six is what you smelled at minute ten. Everything ships sealed from Sydney with Australia Post tracking, $8 Standard or $11 Express, within two business days.
Questions
What does Affinessence Vanille-Benjoin smell like?
A dry, resinous vanilla: benzoin and tonka up front, two vanilla absolutes underneath, no sugar. It wears for a full day and sits close to the skin after the first hours.
Is it authentic?
Yes. Every bottle is sourced by us through authorised retail channels, kept sealed and checked before dispatch. We are an independent Australian retailer and are not affiliated with the brand.
A bottle I want is sold out. Can you order it in?
We do not run back-orders on designer lines. Leave your email under “Notify me” on the product page and you will get one message if that bottle returns.
