Golden-hour light across a vineyard in Provence, summer 2014 — the scent of ripe grapes warmed by sun, wild roses climbing stone walls, and the electric anticipation of a perfect evening ahead. Perfumer Carlos Benaïm bottled that exact feeling, and it’s the most overtly romantic fragrance in the entire Replica line.
It opens juicy and intoxicating — blackcurrant liqueur with a fizz of bergamot and the tiniest pink-pepper prickle. Then the heart blooms: Turkish damask rose, rich and velvety, lifted by herbaceous davana and geranium. The drydown is where things get interesting — an earthy, mossy chypre base of patchouli, vetiver, and musk that gives the whole thing sensuality and depth. This is not a shy date-night scent. This one has intentions.
The trade-off: projection is notably soft (you may need an extra spray), and longevity runs 4-6 hours. The blackcurrant opening can read syrupy to some, and the mossy-patchouli base may feel retro if you were expecting a straightforward fruity-floral. But on the right evening, with the right company? It earns its name.
