This is Soulvent’s “devotion of saffron and oud,” inspired by the sacred mountain of Kailash. It opens bittersweet and dark — saffron and black currant — before a velvety heart of red rose, orris, and geranium unfurls, rich and almost liturgical.

The base is deep and smoky: ebony, guaiac wood, tonka bean, and oud, so the drydown lingers like incense in cold stone. Composed by perfumer Siuchung Lam for Soulvent’s Travel Stories collection, this discontinued 30ml eau de parfum is the series at its most dramatic.
