See them allTry 2 ml samplesThailand makes two kinds of niche perfume, and we stock the best of both. Mith Bangkok hires the world’s most famous perfumers to bottle Thai memories at a fraction of European prices. Butterfly Thai Perfume does the opposite: a Thai founder-perfumer, Thai botanicals, a coconut-oil base, built from the country’s centuries-old scenting tradition. Neither is sold in Australian department stores.
Mith Bangkok — world-class noses, Bangkok prices
Founded in 2015, Mith’s roster reads like a who’s who: Quentin Bisch (Nude), Jean-Christophe Hérault of Aventus fame (Mystery for Him), Nathalie Lorson (Silver Sparkle), Elodie Durande (the One Fine Day collection). The bottle everyone finds us for is One Fine Day: Thai Tea; the one they stay for is Nude. From $47 for 10 ml, with 2, 5 and 10 ml decants poured in Sydney. All 29 Mith scents.
Butterfly Thai Perfume — Thailand as it smells
Founder-perfumer Suchin Kaew-Udon builds every scent in nam ob nam prung, the Thai art of scenting, then finishes it with modern craft: Mango Sticky Rice, Agarwood & Benzoin (the house signature), the award-winning Kali Girl, Galanga (tom yum in a bottle). Each is a 60 ml eau de parfum in a coconut-oil base at $135. All seven Butterfly Thai scents.
Mango sticky rice: which one?
Three houses have bottled Thailand’s national dessert and they are not the same. Mith One Fine Day: Mango Sticky Rice is the most literal: ripe mango, starchy warm rice, coconut milk, pandan, from $47. Butterfly Thai Mango Sticky Rice is creamier and warmer, coconut milk over agarwood and benzoin, $135 and longer-lasting in the oil base. Betmay Mango Sticky Rice, from Shanghai, is the sweetest and the cheapest at $59, and our best-selling Betmay. If you want it photoreal, Mith; elegant, Butterfly; fun, Betmay.

Questions
Which Thai perfume brands can I buy in Australia?
Mith Bangkok and Butterfly Thai Perfume are both held in Sydney by us, shipped Australia-wide for $8 Standard or $11 Express. Mith also comes as 2, 5 and 10 ml decants.
Is Mith Bangkok a real niche house?
Yes. It is an independent Thai house founded in 2015 whose fragrances are composed by Givaudan and Firmenich perfumers who also work for Le Labo, Frederic Malle, Creed and Tom Ford.
What does Thai perfume smell like?
There is no single Thai smell, but the houses lean on Thai ingredients and food: Thai tea, mango and sticky rice, pomelo, galangal and kaffir lime, jasmine garlands, agarwood and benzoin. Expect warmth, fruit and a little spice.
Are these bottles authentic?
Yes. Every bottle is bought by us in Thailand or from the house, kept sealed and shipped from Sydney within two business days. We are an independent Australian retailer.
