The Scent
Cashmeran and black tea open together — warm, aromatic, immediately distinguished — like walking into a wood-panelled study where someone just extinguished a cigar. Birch and leather form the heart: dry, tannic, the scent of a well-worn saddle. Oakmoss and amber in the base soften the edges just enough, while musk keeps everything close to the skin. This is fragrance as personal space — intellectual, reserved, utterly self-contained.
The Collection + Performance
From the Night Veils line — Byredo’s extrait-strength nocturnes — Jérôme Epinette composed this study in leather and restraint with cashmeran, black tea, birch, leather, tobacco, oakmoss, amber, and musk. This 50ml is the discontinued old edition, replaced in 2025 by the reformulated Cuir Sellier 70ml.

Leather purists. Anyone who wishes Santal 33 had less sandalwood and more saddle. The person whose signature scent says “I’ve read more books than you” without ever opening their mouth.
